In addition to replacing the evaporator I am concerned about my odometer. Since I took the car out of storage and started having it worked on (new fuel system and needed break lines) as well as A/C conversion I have found that the odometer has stopped working. In the past I would parodically notice the speedometer stop registering. this would clear up the next time I drove the car. I had 75000 miles on the car and decided to store it in my garage several years ago. I decided to drive it a few weeks ago and found several issues:
1. Fuel leaks - Replaced Tank, Lines, Pump and sender.
2. Got it out of shop and left front brake line let loose. (Replaced all lines and calipers and rotors a few years prior to storage) in shop now.
3. Seat switches not doing a thing anymore (Fuse is good I will check voltage at fuse after is out of shop)
4. Odometer stopped working when I took car out of storage a few weeks back. Speedometer is ok.
5. Having A/C converted and found leak in condenser. Ordered Condenser and got evaporator in error. But if I have to tear into dash I may replace it on general principal. I can always return it.
I bought this car new for my wife's 41st birthday. Of 53 new Chrystler I have had over the years this is the only one I have kept. I have had it stored in my garage for many years but we would like to enjoy it in our retirement. Car is otherwise in good condition.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
