  1. Thanks guys. I've been busy selling my friends el camino project for him. tried in winter on FB mktplace, and a real waste of time and bottom feeders / timewasters So, I waited till it warmed up. Man, I was inundated with prospective buyers this time and so glad I waited. Sold it today. Now, it's time to sell my Riviera. I guess I could do facebook mktplace, but to be honest, it's a real pain in the butt with all the "is it for sale?" BS, and wanting all the specifics on the car in messenger. I've sold on classic cars online in the past and did well and also I believe on Hemmings, were I got a foreign buyer. I'd rather not have to wade through tons of non-serious buyers in facebook mktplace, but maybe that's my best bet. I paid $12 to have the ad boosted and that really made a difference. I also sold a corvette on Doug Demuro's site and that went really well. I would recommend him in a heartbeat if you have something that fits his profile requirements. Well, I'm still open to suggestions and may post it here as well. We'll see. Thanks, Bruce
  2. All good advice. We'll see what happens. Thx.
  3. An 87 el camino project my friend needed to unload due to his relocation. Any way to eliminate the low ballers? I had one guy look at the car for 30 minutes with his 'pal' and low ball me. Then he came up a bit, but he was about 300 away from what i needed. I know the car is worth it. I'm not new to this. I just figure the right person will eventually show.
  4. I have a project car that i'm selling locally. I have a number of people that have expressed interest. Here's my question. Should I schedule them to see the car in like 45 min. slots and get back to whoever makes the best offer? Or, do i schedule one, if they buy it, contact the others to let them know. If the first person doesn't buy, then i call the next....rinse and repeat? My concern is if I go through them all, decide to pick the best offer, what's to say they don't change their mind or try to negotiate a lower price, thinking they may have offered too much? Strategy please. Just to clarify, i dont' take deposits. Been there, done that. No thanks.
  5. Thanks. All great advice. I wouldn't advertise it until I'm sure i am selling it, just to be clear. If i do list it, i'd probably wait until spring as the winter is typically not a great time to sell. I had to laugh as I've had the same experience with sellers who knew nothing about the car or were selling it for someone else, or especially on facebook and craigslist, they don't respond to inquiries. I've sold cars before over the years and was wondering if any one venue seemed best. That's why i inquired.
  6. I'm wondering which site is best to sell a classic car. I'm considering selling my 73 Riviera, but not 100% positive. I'm thinking of sites like Hemmings, autotrader, classic cars online, not facebook marketplace or craigslist. I'm open to recommendations. Anyone with recent experience.
  7. my 73 riv with comfortron has no fan speeds working. It will blow cold with a jury rigged switch to the blower. That's the way i got the car, Is there anyone with experience in these units willing to advise me. Much thanks!
  8. On a seventy three Riviera, what paint did gm use in the trunk: black/white flecks or black with aqua flecks? thanks.
  9. Thanks to those with constructive answers.
  10. Pretty bad leak. I posted on another forum about a youtube video where a guy with a chevy truck drops the oil pan without jacking up the engine. All he had to do was put the engine at top dead center and the darn pan cleared the crank. Here's the video. Watch it before you write it off.
  11. Looking for a really nice front bumper with guards, impact strips and all the brackets that mount it to the frame, including shock absorbers. What do you have? Thx.
  12. My oil pan gasket is shot. I've been told that the engine needs to come out to access it. I was wondering if anyone makes a one piece gasket i could slip through the gap between pan and block and mount that way?
  13. Has anyone purchased a rolling air jack for a backyard buddy lift. They were bought out and advantage lifts are dragging their feet making one that works for the backyard buddy.
  14. Thx. Any idea what these are worth in todays market? Car is clean and original.
