I recently purchased a 1926 Hupmobile Model A with 20” wood spoke wheels. I plan to take it on a 2500-3000 mile trip in 2026 if I decide it can make it. I purchased 4 new tires and found out how difficult it is to find anyone who will work with the split rims. One rim is needing to be replaced and I will need two spares for a total of 3 rims I need to purchase. I have learned that there are various designs of these rims. Some are smooth on the inside of the rim that contacts the metal ring around the wood spokes. Mine are hard to describe but they have what I refer to as two ribs or rims around the inside of the wheel, the larger one being on the street side. Is there a source for these split rims? What other cars might have the same design split rim? That being said it might be best, for the purpose of the trip, to get wheels that do not have split rims. Is that doable?

There was a huge style change in GM cars between 1958 and 1959. All of the different divisions’ cars went from boxy to rounded overnight. Look at Buick as a prime example. Can anyone give a little background on what was going on at the company at the time? I’ m intrigued by the sudden change in body styles and think this might be a good topic of conversation.

Author P.G. Wodehouse wrote a series of “Uncle Fred” books but he was from England and dies in 1975 so fought it’s his collection. I don’t want to get on a plane and fly to Kissimmee only to find the seller isn’t there to answer questions. Guess I could hire a local expert to check it out.

Thanks, I should have said I have that information. What I am trying to find out is who owns or is selling the cars. I need to talk to them before I decide to bid. The vehicle description only gives a list of options. Nothing about current condition. Mecum office isn’t being cooperative with that information so I was trying to locate the owner/seller another way. Hope someone is familiar with the collection.

Is anyone familiar with the Uncle Fred Collection. I don't know what all was in it but there were at least some late 50's and early 60's Chrysler Imperial convertibles. I can't find anything through Google searches so asking here. They are for sale and I'd like to contact the seller.
