  1. I have found a Transmission Specialist who after reading my email said; Hi Keith, Yes we can help you out on that, you don't need to remove the motor or complete auto. Unfortunately we are currently on holidays as of today and won't be back until after the 27th of jan. if you can hold off until then let me know and ill book it in. Hopefully this guy may solve my problem. You comments are appreciated and may well be on the money.
  2. My car is an original 1956 Ford Fairlane Victoria (2 door hard top) that has been imported into Australia (very uncommon here). The transmission guy had the car up on the hoist and after inspecting it felt the motor would have to come out because he felt there wasn't sufficient room to get past the cross members. I then saw the earlier post from junkyardjeff who said you don't have to remove the motor. Sorry being an Australian I'm not sure what you mean by a full size Ford?
  3. I have a leak in the auto trans of my 1956 Ford Fairlane Victoria. I took it to a transmission specialist today who said it was the rubber seal inside the transmission pump which needs replacing but the only way to fix it was by pulling out the motor as he doesn’t think it can be dropped down like other transmissions. I saw your post but before I go back to him I wanted to be 100% certain it can be removed without the need to remove the motor. Can you please advise. Many thanks. cheers, Keith
