Hello! We are addressing you as the Tabencki-Collection.pl team dedicated to commemorating the first Polish collector of vintage vehicles - Tadeusz Tabencki (1910-1996) - as well as his unfortunately non-existent today collection, which in its heyday was one of the largest in Europe, and in terms of the diversity of the exhibits - one of the most interesting in the world! In the collection located near Warsaw, in Grodzisk Mazowiecki, there were several Bugatti cars (including the famous 57C Voll & Ruhrbeck, which is currently owned by Mr. Patterson), two Maybachs (DS8 Zeppelin and SW38) as well as several legendary Mercedes cars with the famous 500K from 1935 at the forefront. Tabencki, thanks to his abilities, the wealth of his family and his extraordinary passion, has accumulated cars with unique stories over the years. Many of them also belonged to famous people. For example, his collection included a white Plymouth Sport Fury from 1959, which was previously owned by Sharon Tate (R.I.P.) and Roman Polański. Interestingly, Tadeusz Tabencki was also a long-term member of ... the American club AACA! In the documents after him, which we have in our collection, there are many letters from AACA and the original membership cards from 1989. Therefore, we decided to contact you with a question. Do any of you know Tadeusz Tabencki and his collection? Maybe someone has some archival photos, videos and documents or memories related to this topic? Tabencki visited the United States many times, where he also had a family. He attended a car rally in Chicago in 1971, and his cars starred in many world-famous movies - such as "The Night of the Generals", "War and Remembrance", "Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse" and many others. Our goal is to commemorate this extraordinary man who devoted his life to collecting vintage cars, motorcycles and electric railways (he had the second largest collection of railway models in the world, right after Queen Elizabeth II's collection).
