These bows were all cut on a bandsaw using a pattern that I made from a 1/4” plywood that you can see laying on my table saw.  I probably cleaned the saw marks up a bit using a hand plane and spindle sander but certainly not going overboard with it.

Those tenons were cut before the curve - they need to be straight.

Thanks so much for the information.

I don’t remember just how I figured the amount of bow - I think I conformed with the crown in the visor.  It was subtle as you can see in the pics.  If really needed I think I can measure the height of the bow I used.  Unfortunately I had almost no original wood in the roof.  Lots of guesswork.

    good luck,
    Joel

That looks really good. I see you made the all the same curvature . Did you cut and sand to get them into the shape needed or did you shape them some other way?

I'm thinking of using the front windshield header that holds the front window crank mechanism .. seems to have the proper curve but I'm not 100 percent sure how it'll go further on the roof.

  3. I have a 32 Model 67 4 door and I'm trying to find a place that sells the roof bows for this car or if someone has a drawing for the profile . Do all the bows have the same profile or are they different ? Trying to get this done so I can close in the roof of the car.

    Thanks.

    Lots of great work there!

Did all the body framing (wood) need replacement? If so, what did you use?

Did you drop the front axle or did you get all the drop with the frame Z?

Curious because I'm headed down a similar path with my Pontiac...

The wood in mine was pretty solid all around . The wood was left in the door frames and pillars but removed from around the back end of the car.

The car runs a Speedway Motors 4" drop round tube axle to get the front low.

Ok , these are the only ones I have so if neither is the exact arm you need but the quadrant (I think that is what they call the teeth section) is a match I can cut both plates (your original and mine) one inch below the teeth on the same radius and weld my teeth to your plate. But lets keep our fingers crossed. My guess is you have the same skill level to do the same. It is possible that both quadrants on my arms are identical so if you decide to replace just the teeth section onto your quadrant I'll send you both. Just in case you have a mishap need a spare.

The one on the left is what I would need . 16394258630875127744380952185759.jpg.48eddd493b7c5e749e0a97274caa4711.jpg

You should notice they are two different items as far as the arms. I have a 32 Series 90. I am not sure which is front and which is back. Can you take a picture of yours?

Also I have two lenses for my car but because they are hard to find, and mine are near perfect, I made fakes to put on my car and store the originals. I cannot see parting with them as I think it is best they stay with my car. But I can provide pictures and measurements.

I am in need of Buick tail lights if you have any.

    Tony

Hi Tony . I'll take the door apart this weekend and have a good look. It should be the one on the left.  Ill take a look .. I believe I have 1 tail light in a box somewhere.

  7. Does anyone know where I could purchase a driver's side window regulator for my 32 sedan model 67? I have about 8 or 10 teeth that are stripped , so the window won't go all the way up.

Does anyone know if these are interchangeable with other makes or models of cars ? Can they be purchased aftermarket?

    Thanks .

The  body side panels are mounted to the wood frame.  You can get measurements by measuring panel to panel and subtracting the panel thickness.

Bob .. do you know of anyone that sells wood kits for the 32 - 67 series?
