  1. Thanks so much. The thread had all the information I needed to solve the problem. When I pulled the fuse box the first time, I noticed the previous owner had spliced into the brown wire feeding the acc side of the fuse box. I removed the splice at that time and made a mental note to fix that wire as I thought enough current could still pass through. I was wrong, I made a proper repair to that wire and now I'm up and running again. Thanks so much for your help Tom. It's really appreciated. Time for a coastal cruise! Matt Green
  2. Ya, power windows, power seats, fully loaded I guess you could say haha. Thanks for the reply, I'm thinking that's the next step.
  3. Hi, first and foremost thanks for the time and effort that everyone has put into this site. I've been using it as a reference for sometime now. On to the problem. I drive this car nearly every day, the other night I was making a left hand turn and pow. Nothing. Engine died, no power to my lights, windows, nothing. I coasted into the neighborhood, pulled the battery and had it checked, all good. Next I thought maybe the voltage regulator, so I swapped that out for a new one. After messing with that a bit I had power when I turned the key to the on position with the amp light and oil light lit up. It started and ran, I turned the headlights on then it died again. The intermittent power when the ignition is switched to on is puzzling. Fast forward, the dash light lit up again after numerous tries, I fired it up and drove it home without turning on the headlights. I cleaned up all the connections to the voltage regulator, the alternator and the battery. The alternator is working as it should, checked it while the car was running and was over 14v with the battery when the car is off around 12.9v. Next thing is the ignition switch but I'm not sure if that would be an intermittent problem like I'm experiencing or not with complete power loss. I should note that I'm able to roll the windows up and down and turn on the lights without the key in the ignition. That's kind of scary too. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
