  1. Very nice 1930 Briggs Sedan which received a high quality, professional frame off restoration in the 80's. This is a two family California car which I inherited from my father who inherited it from my uncle. Runs, drives and stops (juice brakes). 1400 miles since restoration and I have all receipts and pictures. Car has been in storage since 1992 and as such needs some minor things (brakes adjusted, carb rebuilt) to be road worthy and does show some minor wear from storage. Priced at a fraction of the cost of the restoration, not including the car. Mike 8Zero5.459.8673. Serious calls only and no texts please.
  2. I just bought a 40 deluxe coupe, totally restored but stored in a museum with gas in it for 20 years. I drained the tank and flushed it with fresh gas, replaced the soft fuel line to the pump (which I intend to replace also) and installed a fuel filter forward of the tank to catch any tank debris. I can start the car when i fill the bowl but get no fuel from the tank at all. When i remove the hard line from front of the tank (which has about 6 gallons of fresh gas in it) nothing comes out. I'm wondering if there is a pick up tube on the inside of the tank that may be clogged? Shouldn't fuel come out of the tank when i remove the hard line or is that a function of vacuum from a good working fuel pump? Just trying to troubleshoot before i remove the tank. Thanks in advance for any advice.
  3. thanks. Found out the 2nd 'condenser' is a radio suppressor. I feel a 'little' less stupid now LOL. Thanks for the advice
  4. thanks - fixed. was able to reach under the dash and lube it where it connects to back of speedo. no more clicking.
  5. Hi I'm new to the forum and recently purchased a 40 deluxe convertible. It has no spark and a new coil but older condensers. Are there two separate condensers (one with wire and one with metal tab) and if so does anyone have a PN# or good source for quality replacement? Here's a pic
  6. just got my 39 LZ coupe on the road after long storage (thanks to the forum for the earlier tips). runs and drives well, but the speedometer is clicking at about 20 mph. i'm pretty sure it's the cable but with a columbia rear end it looks like the cable is 'sealed' from the columbia control unit on the firewall. I'm guessing i need to access the back of the speedo and lube it with graphite oil, but wanted to check if there are any pro tips or if i'm missing something here.
  7. Hi all, Just a note that after some help form Jerry Richman rebuilding the distributor the engine fired and runs like a top. Water pumps leak a bit so I'm sending them out this week. Thanks for the advice!
  8. thanks guys. I have a good rebuild shop here, so i'll go that route.
  9. Hi all, Trying to verify the correct starter to replace the original on my 39 LZ . The current one drags and after checking all the grounds and new battery i'm pretty sure it's the starter. I've been told they are interchangeable with the flathead v8 starters. Recommendation on the best source to buy one would be great.
  10. Thanks all. I'll keep you posted on progress.
  11. I'm bought a 39 Lincoln with a rebuilt motor that has been in storage for 15 years and not started. My plan is to clean the gas tank, put some Marvel Mystery oil in the cylinders and change the oil before start-up. This is my first V12 so I'm not sure if there is anything special i should do in order to prevent damage in bringing it back to life. Thanks in advance for any advice.
