  1. Change the oil and drive it .put the old oil in it like it used  back in its day.

     One other thing you can  do is with the motor running take the air cleaner off  and with the motor running  pour some Kerosene  right down the carb you’ll want to have a hold of the throttle so you can  rev it as needed it will smoke but if it is sticky it will help free it up

    it will smoke out the exhaust.

     last you may have some broken rings if they were not put in right

  2. TAKE THE ONE OFF THE CAR AND  TAKE IT APART AS MUCH AS YOU CAN. THEN GET SOME  REAL LEMON JUICE  AND  GET A PAN TO PUT IT IN AND PUT WATER ENOUGH TO COVER IT AND ADD SOME LEMON JUICE  THEN TURN THE HEAT ON WHEN IT JUST HAS SOME LITTLE BUBBLES  ITS HOT ENOUGH LEAVE IT GO FOR SEVERAL HOURS . BEST DONE OUT SIDE. THEN YOU WILL BE TO TAKE THE REST OF THE CARB APART.

    IF THE SCREWS  DON’T COME OUT EASY  COOK IT SOME MORE.

     I USE A OLD CROCK POT THAT HAS  SOME  HEAT CONTROL.

  3. check the switch module down  on the steering post ,This is where  the switch working  is .

    the switch  by the steering wheel is just  got a rod that runs down the the module  on top of the stiring shaft check the wires also at the module

    Another option is put in a HEI distributor.

    DONT GIVE UP.

     MY 1980 FORD HAS A DELECRON ALTNATOR

    ALSO CHECK THAT YOU HAVE A GOOD  GROUND FROM THE BATTERY TO THE MOTOR.

    Check both ends of the battery cables .

  4.  take a crock pot and some lemon juice (real lemon juice ) and put the carb parts in it and bring it to just starts to boil. YOU NEED TO CLEAN IT ALL THEN GET A NEW REPAIR KIT AND  PUT IT BACK TOGETHER.

    The old gaskets and diaphragm''s wont last  in today’s GAS !

  5.  use a test light or ohms meter and see in you have a circuit on both sides of the points.

     Setting as long as that has set it may take some good cleaning  .

      I use a little wet stone that never has had oil on it to clean the contacts.

     TAKE THE POINTS OUT AND CLEAN IT ALL UP

  6. Fresh out of the barn, had it running this last weak. will need carb work and break work. 64000 miles on this,
    clear title,
    one hole in the floor where the battery goes some rust on the rocker s no bondo that I know of
    is original paint some one spot painted it where the rust is.
    the ignition switch in it and needs some work.
    trunk and engine compartment are good .
    I think motor and tranny are original motor is AM009083.
    I have a extra windshield frame and a trailer hitch that goes with it.

     NOT MANY OF THESE AROUND ANY MORE!
