  1. Hi let me start by saying I'm in the UK! I can sort shipping or pallet items if required for you to have shipped. I've a 1928 Dodge Standard Six and most of the running gear is being removed. I have the following if of interest - no idea on prices for these... 4 x Wood spoke wheels and tyres Manual 3 speed gearbox sorry transmission! - working Propshaft Rear Axle Front and rear hubs (cable brakes) The braking system - cables/rods etc Handbrake lever Brake lever/pedal Clutch lever/pedal The original engine was replaced with a Ford 2.0L OHC (Pinto) engine which is sold but I have the bell housing from the Ford that is adapted to the 3 speed transmission - any use?
  2. Hi, I've the can mounted on the inner fender which has two pipe outlets - one small / one large. Any one know where these connect to? I've the remains of a pipe sticking out of the bulkhead above the heater core so presume this was connected. Thanks again! Andy
  3. Hi I'm looking to replace the oil pressure switch mounted on the top of the filter housing with a combined switch and gauge sender. Does anyone know the thread size I would need? Thanks in advance. Andy
  4. Hi looking at a Pertronix 1281 distributor conversion ignitor kit but my dizzy is a AUTOLITE not motorcraft - will this fit or is there any others to consider? Thanks Andy
  5. Hi Mike, long shot but can you message Ernest to find out what transmission fluid he used as it seems to be difficult to know if it should be type A / F dextron etc etc!! Thanks again Andy
  6. Thanks Bloo, as mentioned the car was 'laid up' since 82 in a barn! Imported last year to the UK and I've started a 'budget' rebuild. Not driven it though got it started and moved backward and forwards (walking pace) as the tyres had collapsed. When I pulled the engine / trans there was a name written on the trans which turns out to be a chap who owned a transmission shop so presume its been rebuilt or had work prior to 82. Obviously it would be ideal to send it away for a check and rebuild but that in the UK would be a large chunk of my mostly spent budget!!
  7. Many thanks Lew, this has sat since the early 80's so I've drained it all and intend to change the filter and refill. Not sure to use Type F or the later Dexron?
  8. Hi what would be the recommended transmission fluid for a 62 Cruise o matic? Thanks Also does anyone know if its ok to turn the transmission onto its side to change the filter etc or would this be a bad idea? Thanks in advance. Andy
  9. Mike you're a star for finding this out! Amazing, I'd be a little more discrete in doing the same so he must of owned the transmission shop!! ?
  10. Nice, have reacted but as I'm not in the US there's a time difference to when I'm awake with internet access!
  11. Nice, have responded but I'm on the other side of the world so my responses are delayed due to the time difference!!! Hi, many thanks for this, the link just give me some text unrelated - not sure why but not audio???
  12. Wow that’s amazing. Be interested in what you’ve heard! Thanks
  13. Thanks Frank just what I needed!
  14. Hi yes a 62 hardtop Thunderbird Was a light silvery blue colour but someone painted it white. The license on the screen shows Oklahoma. I’ve loads of tax commission receipts and registration certificates going back to 79 same owner - name on the certificate: Hill Wendell L &/or Fern L. Headrick OK Looked like they moved in 2011 to Polk Street in Altus OK. So either this was the previous owner or something they had fitted during their ownership??
  15. Not brave enough, some mad English man making clams about an old car - could think I'm some insurance claim scam!
  16. Hi nope the cooler lines are at the bottom side and rear corner. Think this might be a breather but trawling the internet trying to find images - always show the other side.
  17. Hi nope hence my post as I'm in the UK and imported this 62 TBird last year - which had been sat in a barn in OK since 82!
  18. Hi yes often done over here in the UK on 2nd hand parts, didn't know if anyone knew of the people or place or if it was a mechanic's signiture!
  19. Hi just pulled my transmission and once I'd cleaned off the cr*p this name appeared. Presume its a part from a scrap / breakers yard but can anyone confirm this? Thanks Andy form the not so sunny UK!
  20. Hi just pulled my transmission to clean up and noted this broken pipe fitting towards the top side. Anyone know what its for or should be connected too? This is out of a 62 Thunderbird. Thanks Andy
