  1. Thanks! that got it. I had tried rotating the HL rim before, but a PO had kindly siliconed it on, making it very hard to move, so I had given up on that method.
  2. OK, maybe an elementary topic, but I need to change a bulb and see no easy way to get into the headlight. The manual also does not address this. I have nice perfect chrome ones and hesitate to take up a tool...
  3. Mr. Smith just sent the brushes, no diagnosis. And they were NORS. Luckily we have a good auto electronics guy down here [100 miles south of you] who figured out what it needed. I'll bet you have someone like him up in Portland. Yes, they're getting rarer.
  4. Mr. Smith also sells on Ebay. It turned out that replacing the brush set was all that was required. And yes, he had them. Note that 1920's brush sets by him on Ebay were $45, but he decided $75 was more appropriate in this case. It's a good idea to keep the piggy bank handy if you call him.
  5. S10 has a Northeast electric Model A which gives no output. Aside from the usual checkup [look at brushes, commutator, wiring] does anyone out there have a good resource for rebuilding? And, has anyone modified theirs with a later cutout or regulator?
  6. Looks as if the horn is OK, and wires lead into the left kick panel, but no way to honk the horn presents itself. Where is it? What does it look like? [later S10's may have it on top of the steering wheel, but not a 1922...
