  4. Hi, in my wonderfull 58´Buick Special 4 door sedan I have a Stromberg Carburator WW2. The start automatic does not well. The reason is the plate where is located in the right exhaust manifold. The plate is tight (over the years) and open. When the motor is cold the plate is open but should be closed for a better cold start to bring warm air to the carburetor start automatic. If the engine is warm everthing is well. A friend told me, I should use a electric choke on my carburetor and than the cold start is more better. I need a dealer or a tip where I can order that electric choke. Thanks for help, maybee someone have a tip to me to solve the problem. Sorry for my english, I´m a german Buick driver :-) Jens

  6. Hi, thanks for all comments, I will check the tips from buick man and I will posting the result. The noising is on the straight road, gas a way than it is noise but not in every speed. I remember the speed was roundabout 37 miles. If I have a lower speed it´s no noise. The rear bearings are fresh, without noise OK, I will check it. Jens
  7. Hi Big Dan, thanks, Are you sure? Next situation. When I drive my car and I take my foot from gas pedal the rear axle make noise like singing wheel from trucks fare a way at the highway. Do you now what I mean?? When I take gas singing is over. What can it be? Oil in rear axle housing is fresh. Thank for your support. Jens
  8. Hi, thanks for your meaning. All motor mounts and transmission mount are brand new. Also the body mounts and every rubber on my car. Only if the clutch is warm and I put the transmission in reverse it makes a hard clunk. So I will reduce the engine running from 485 rpm to 450 rtm. Maybe it is more better. Thanks and have a nice sunday. Jens
  9. Hi, I have a 1958 Buick Special 4 door Sedan with Dynaflow transmission PNDLR. The transmission oil is fresh, filter is clean and in warm condition exactly in right high. The engine is running with 485 rpm. The transmission works smouth but when the engine is warm and I shift the transmission in reverse I feel a hard working, It makes "clunk" when the motor is cold no hard shifting no "clunk". Ok, my "Dino" is 58 years old and maybe in the 50´s it was normal. What is the problem or is that normal? Thanks for informations. Jens from Germany
  10. Hi, I have good news for all 58 Buick 4 door Special and Century owners. I wanted to order a set of new trunk boards or card board for my Buick. For the 58 Special 4 door Sedan nobody produce that set. Now I risked it and orderd for the 1957 Buick Century 4 Door Hardtop. Congratulations! Wonderful the set is absolut in the same size. The dad´s of 1958 Buick used the same trunk construction in 1957 and 1958. Here you can order the set. http://www.ebay.com/itm/260315341654 Thanks Jens

Last week I got the part book with body and chassis numbers from 1940 up to 1969. In that book I found the right order numbers. www.oldbuickparts.com have the right for me. Here a link to a Buick owner from France. That video shows the body mounts position perfect: More videos from that owner you can find in youtube.com I will order the parts in January with a lot of other parts. Thanks a lot Jens from Germany

May you know in which kind of book I can find the right parts. Maybe in a Buick "parts order cataloge". So I could find the in ebay or other source. What is the right name of the book in USA? I want do not wait until pull out the rubbers out of car to see the part number. From order time to arriving the part Germany are long. Car can not move at that time. Thanks Jens

  20. Hi, I´m from Germany, my english is not so well and I hope I write right what I mean. I have a 1958 Buick Special 4 door Sedan with 364 cui V8 engine 6 liter and 300 SAE hp. My car is from Texas, 2013 it moved to Germany. The Buick is a survivor car with original 34100 miles. In the moment we make all seals from engine new. At that work we saw, that the camshaft can move to front and rear from engine round about 4 millimeters (how many inch I do not know). If the engine will turning, the camshaft move back in the right position and the distributor is turning. Now my question. That´s right that the camshaft we can sliding with hands? Is that normally? We changed also the timing chain, but at that moment we felt not that we made a mistake. Hope someone can help me with information. Best regards from Germany
