  1. Hi, still looking.  Have had some potential scammers I believe, the person was willing to part a complete roadster / cabriolet from the picture he sent to pay for cancer treatments he needed. He wanted me to send a Wallmart money order and would ship it to my door.  After several emails, with the last one asking that I send friends to pay and pick up the bumper, no response was sent.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks again

  2. Success!

I was able to get the hub separated without doing any damage.  Looks like someone over the years has tried to get them apart, cracked race and several indents on the components.  It took a very large press with a 8" Diameter pipe under the drum to support the drum from flexing.  A plug was used to sit in the upper race and it pressed through the larger side of the hub (wheel side) down separating both pieces.  I have added some pictures of the components.  Thanks for the suggestions and help.

  3. I have tried to pry apart the hubs as suggested with very little luck.  I have used a sharp chisel and it looks as though I'm gaining on it but it may just be bending the large flange.  I can actually rotate the drum around the hub.  It is loose now.  I have tried to press the assembly apart with still no luck.  I hope to spend more time over the weekend.  It looks like the inner and outer bearing are on a shaft that is attached to the lower flange and the large hub on the outer side of the drum slips over this shaft.  That's why I'm looking at using a press to get them apart.  Still looking for any other possible suggestions.

    Thanks

  4. Hi Ron,

Are you thinking that if I pry the outer large hub away from the drum in picture 4 this might come loose?  Breaking the seal between the drum and the hub?  I would think I might see some type of witness line in the inside diameters where it might be split showing the two pieces.  (I assume two pieces because of the flange on the inside of the drum.  I hope this makes sense.  Thanks for your help.

    Thanks

  5. Hi, I'm looking to separate the hub from the drum, I have removed the 12 bolts that I thought sandwiched everything together but after removing them it looks as though something else is keeping them together.  I'm not sure if they may have been machined and pressed together from the factory,  possibly pressed and welded but am not having any luck on how to split them.  I have added pictures if anyone has done this before.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Pat
