My Kawasakki has no spark. It has been sitting for many years. Everything else works perfectly. Just wondering what the gap is between the coil pick up and flywheel? Thanks

My Mangusta seems to go through electric fuel pumps faster than normal True I don't drive it that much but it seems that I am replacing them more than I should have to. Any recommendations will be appreciated. Thanks

fuel pump installed, 80 PSI at the firewall and 43 out of the fuel rail. Seems to run fine but was unable to test drive it. I imagine the smog test will be the determining factor if anything else will be required. Thanks for everyones help, I really do appreciate the knowledge that is available on this site.

Well it has been a long project and I have the fenders on the car with a 1 inch gap so I could paint in between the connection points. Then I realized that I need to put something in between the aluminum and steel. A little late on my research but I figured now that there must be something I could put in between that will allow me to keep the fenders in place as they are to avoid scratching the new paint.

Maybe like an RV roof coating? Moss motors has a roll of tape but it is close to two hundred dollars by the time it is delivered!! Too pricey!

Just finished painting my car and am wondering what type of anti-corrosion tape I can use tobolt between aluminum body and steel fenders. Thanks

Got a new pump and checking it outside of car it has 88 pounds of pressure. Is that too much or will the regulator lower it on the fuel rail? The pump we replaced had what looked like a pressure regulator on it but this one does not.

I believe I determined that the fuel pump is bad. I pinched all the lines as mentioned, checked pressure on the inlet tube while disconnected from rail the check pressure directly from pump out of the tank. 21 pounds max pressure. I am sure that it was the correct pump when installed three years ago as my wife and I drove it at least 100 miles without problems but the I returned it to my friend, the owner and it sat for 2 1/2 years, We shall see when my friend buys his new pump. Than you all for your input.

Today I will be trying out what you said, Hemi Dude. Hopefully I will be able to determine if in fact it is an FPR or the fuel pump. Just to be clear, the pressure at the fuel rail is normally 55 PSI or is it usually much lower? When we installed the existing fuel pump it ran fine but sitting for a long period of time might have compromised it again.

I just checked the pressure at the fuel rail and as it is idling it holds at a steady 21 pounds and revving the engine does not change the pressure at all. where would i attach the gauge to check for the fifty five pounds. Your right Hemi Dude it is a generic 2.2L.

What is a good oil to use with the overdrive? I read that a lighter than other gearboxes is required

I received an email from Pierre Hedary an MB Mechanic on you tube and he said I need at least 6 bar and at most 7.1 bar to the fuel distributer. Just FYI

I can't seem to find the fuel pressure required at the fuel distributor on my 420 SEL. I am trying to determine if my fuel pumps are sending enough fuel. Thanks for any info.

I am still looking for the white ceramic disc/valve for the fuel distributor. Even a non rebuildable distributor that I could take apart and salvage a disc from it...Thanks

Thanks vintage 1 but I am still not having any luck finding the piece I need. I think I need to try to find a fuel distributor that is not rebuildable and take out the internal parts as needed. Still looking for any suggestions. Thanks and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

How do you determine if you have wide or narrow brake drums on this car. Apparently wide drums will not allow 60 spoke wire wheels to be used

I decided to try rebuilding my fuel distributor but while doing so I managed to break one of the eight ceramic disc/valves that sit on top of the diaphragm. I am hoping someone might be able to tell me where I could find a replacement. Thanks

Thanks again everyone. Looks like I can stop buying parts for a while as the car runs good now. I probably was going to get it running with the parts I had but most likely would not have known what fixed it without all your input. Thanks again!!

Thanks for all the responses everyone. I guess I left a key problem when asking for help. When the engine quits there is absolutely no spark. Then when it sat it started and ran long enough to get home. I then went to start it another day and it ran very rough then died again. Unable to restart an hour later. several days later still will not start. I am in the process of changing out the coil, distributor cap, rotor and the pick up coils hoping that will fix it. I am a typical backyard mechanic replacing things that seem obvious but I am not too knowledgeable with electronic systems. The coil has power to the positive and negative side but no power out of the high voltage to the plugs. Anymore help will be appreciated

Just hoping somebody has an idea of why my car would run until warmed up then completely die, Instruments included but won't start when I turn it over until I let it sit for an hour or so. It runs rough as well.

No it relies on the electric pump. I am on the third pump now
