  1. Yep, I tried that a bit ago and no dice. 100% not getting any fuel from the pump to the carb. Your thought then is to pull the pump and send it out for refurb? This pump isn't quite dime a dozen, it's a mechanical pump with a vacuum attachment (not sure what the vacuum lines are actually doing for me though). Thanks in advance Matt.
  2. That would be a negative ghost rider. Definitely not getting fuel from the pump into the carb.
  3. Hey all, this is a re-post in the more dedicated forum than my earlier general post. At any rate, I'm having an awful time getting my Buick started and running. I can only get it running for 3 - 4 seconds and that's with the fuel I'm dumping directly into the carb with a syringe (~10 ml or so). She's sat for a good 5 or 6 years, but has always been hard starting and it seems like it's always been a fuel problem. I've rebuilt the pump 2x now in the 12 years that I've had it, with the last rebuild only a couple of months ago. Now that I've had a bit more time and money on my hands, I've become more serious about getting her back on the road. I've totally rebuilt the carb now as well and have put in fresh gas. Earlier this week I pulled the pump and the lower bowl was full of gas, so that seems to be working. I'm highly suspicious of getting fuel from the pump to the carb though. Shy of pulling the pump and having it sent out for professional refurb, I just don't know what else to do. When I had the pump off earlier this week, I blew compressed air through all the lines thinking that perhaps I had a clog. After re-installing the pump, it made no difference. Lastly, the tank has been cleaned, etched and sealed so that's not an issue. Any help is appreciated. For any Chandler, Az enthusiasts (or other nearby) I'm open to someone coming over and help troubleshoot.
  4. Fuel - Air - Spark: I'm having a terrible time getting it started. I've rebuilt the carburetor and the fuel pump as well as having put in fresh gas. I can get it running but only with the amount of fuel I'm priming directly into the carb bowl, about 3 - 4 seconds worth, but it will run smoothly. I think I'm getting fuel from the tank to the pump, but I'm definitely not getting it from the pump to the carb. Shy of pulling the fuel pump (again) and sending it for professional refurb, I'm not really sure what else I can do. I should mention that earlier this week when I pulled it I blew air through all the lines, thinking that perhaps I had some sort of obstruction, so that shouldn't be a problem. It hasn't run since roughly 2015/2016, and it's been hard starting for as long as I've had it, going all the way back to 2010. I could dearly use some help. The carb is a WD0 440S, but I don't believe that's the problem. Honestly, I'm open to a more experienced person coming over if they're in the East Valley of Phoenix (Chandler).
  5. 100% it's a reverse flair coupling. The fuel line leading into the carb has a flair and a nut on it. The trouble I've been having is that the nut from the tube end is 5/16, which appears to be of an uncommon size. Legit have tried, O'reilly, Autozone, Tractor Supply, Home Depot, Lowes and multiple Ace Hardwares. Oddly, Ace seems to be able to get the closest, but the darn issue is 5/16 female reverse flare thread. I've got a part coming I ordered online later today, I'll update with status when it shows.
  6. Help! I sent my carb out for service and they returned it without a fitting. It wasn't until later that I discovered it and I'm having a terrible time finding a replacement. The carb service center isn't doing anything for me. I've got the part I'm looking for circled in red. It's for a 1940 Buick Special and it's the last part I need before I can fire up and hit the road. If anybody is able to help out in identifying size and thread class it would be much appreciated! Tubing OD appears to be 5/16
