  1. My car has had a smallish coolant leak for a while that seems to have gotten real big lately. Tonight on my way home my engine hydro locked as I was pulling into my driveway.

None of the hoses had burst and the water pump is only a couple years old. I am fairly certain that the intake manifold gasket is leaking. Are there any good guides to aid in the intake manifold gasket replacement or is this just a dive in and get it done kind of job?

Any thoughts or advice would be very helpful and I thank you in advance.

  2. It was most likely stuck closed but opened up after I let it sit for a while. There is no oil in the radiator so it is most likely an intake gasket issue. I've been out of the auto industry for some time now so it slipped my mind that that's what it could be. Thanks for the advice guys.

  3. Im pretty sure I have a head gasket issue so I have to fill my coolant on the regular but even when it has coolant on max heat it still on puts out tepid air. I need to flush out the heater core as yesterday my thermostat froze causing my heater hose to burst, so I figured I'd do that before I put on new hoses. I just need my car to last a few more months until I can park her for a proper rebuild.

  4. Kind of a silly question as it could probably answered by any local exhaust shop here but I'll ask it anyways. Does anyone know if Direct fit exhaust pipes are still made or available? I have a hole right where the welded on plate is attached.

  5. So I just went out and checked the brake pump. The accumulator was extremely hot to the touch. So I unplugged the pump to let the whole thing cool down for a moment. I plugged it back in after about a minute and the motor was still running all the time. I unplugged it again. I went to get a couple of tools to check the relays. and when I plugged the pump back in it ran for about 15 seconds and then shut off. I will keep an eye on this in the next few days so as to give anyone else with a similar situation help in the future.

  6. Hello, today on my drive home from work the diagnostic center came up and said that I had low ABS pressure, the pedal still felt fine and it still stopped normally. When I got home and shut the car off I noticed the master cylinder pump was still running. Is this just an ABS pressure sensor issue or is there something more going on? Any help is appreciated.
