  1. I went to check my latest pricing on a private party transaction at Kelley Blue Book and NADA if I should sell my 1990 Reatta 2 door. I calculated 120,000 miles and quoted it in good condition (supposedly only about 5% of cars are in excellent condition)in my current zip code. Kelley Blue Book quoted $2185; NADA quoted $2300. Where do they get these ridiculously low values, and is there any national source that can give me a fair value on this great car I've got? I checked lately on AutoTrader.com and there were like 20 Reattas for sale with them in the whole USA - maybe only 3-4 convertibles. Any ideas on this!
  2. Daves89, Barney Eaton, and Ipsihk - I would like to express my appreciation on your responses concerning my Reatta's driver's headlight and passenger's window. I will followup with all of you later, and thanks for being there to help an amateur - along with all the others you give to so selflessly!
  3. I'm curious what this is exactly? I've read about them online but have never seen one. I heard each Buick Reatta had one, and yet my Reatta only had an owner's manual. Do you suppose speculators are hoarding them to make profits, or are they all tattered/thrown out, or am I just one of the unlucky newer owners who didn't get one with his purchase? It kind of pisses me off in a way!
  4. I can't be of any help mechanically to you but here's my experience when I had the sister car (Olds Toronado Trofeo). My nephew who has some mechanical skills went to a couple of U-Pull it junkyards and shanghaied several of those Electronic Control Consoles off junked Trofeos, and put them in my dash after the Console went haywire. The previous owner had spent over $1000 with a dealer to put in a new unit. Sadly the Trofeo ultimately went through (4) of those units before it went to junkyard heaven. Needless to say, I didn't buy an 88 or 89 Reatta to deal with that grief again!
  5. I'm just curious if I could enlist the common wisdom on whether the regular 1990 Reatta should have a pop-up sunroof? I talked to the local "sunroof" shop where the owner has done thousands of installations on all cars over the years. He told me that he would not put in the more mechanical current type of sunroof on the car because he doesn't trust it for the Reatta. The pop-up he's proposing is the oversized type where the glass can also be completely removed, and stored. I've heard that some Buick Reatta owners have had bad leaks with sunroofs! Anyone care to weigh in on this if I'm about to make a real bonehead mistake?
  6. Hi folks, and thanks to AACA for opportunity to be on. This is my first Reatta post ever here; so I hope you'll forgive this lay and mechanically-challenged person's questions. I'm sure the veterans here will scratch their heads - lol - so here goes! First, the headlight on drivers side - if it won't stay up is it a motor problem or some other problem; and are used parts online the way to go? Second my power window on passengers's side freezes up when its too hot or too cold and won't open at all. Any thoughts what this problem might be? Your thoughts appreciated!
