  1. Thanks, I thought they were in Florida. My grandfather inherited $250,000 in and about 1906 and lost it all by 1920. He must have had one hell of a ride
  2. I just wanted to show you the picture I just took of my grandfather's things. Also, I have really enjoyed learning about the Locomobile and the Vanderbilt Races. I can see why you are all so interested...it's fun. P.S. Peter, I will try to get those pictures clearer
  3. Vanderbilt Cup racing trophy won by Locomobile Company, 1908. These smaller trophies are quite rare. The Locomobile was the first American car to win an International race in 1908 and the company based in Bridgeport CT had reception where these small trophies were given out to commemorate the event. This automobile memorabilia piece measures 4 and 1/4" high and made by the Forbes Silver Company in quadruple plated silver. Check it out on ebay
  4. Wow, That is a great photo! Wonder if my Grandfather was in Florida then
  5. How do I get better resolution?
  6. I really don't know. I would think he had friends that were or invested in them. He may have even owned one. I just added two more pics. I also have the executive trophy from the 1908 Vanderbilt Cup Race.
  7. I also have some great pictures from my grandfather. Enjoy.
