John Tygard Buick Deal

There's some fun to be had time-travelling to try to find out where your car was originally retailed. A stop at the Aiken, SC Library one Sunday afternoon led to a micro-filmed article showing John Tygard in the Showroom of his Buick Store, introducing the new '57's.

A little deciphering from old City Directories later, we were on "Auto Row," a main drag coming into Aiken. This had been home to many other marques since Tygard retired, most recently a Nissan Deal.

It, too, had relocated to Aiken's version of the "Motor Mile," and there's no telling what's happened to this lovely Mid-Century Moderne edifice since. Hopefully, some Car Crazy guy got hold of it!
