The Marlin was based on the 112" Rambler Classic chassis and mocked the styling of the Tarpon show car of 1964. Unusual paint schemes were available to accent the equally ususual fastback roofline. At $3,100 it was AMC's most expensive car and just 10,327 were sold. This car was used in the filming of Girl Interrupted in Lancaster, PA.
