SOLD: 1955 DeSoto Fireflite Sportsman 2DR Hardtop. Sharp!

This 1955 DeSoto Fireflite Sportsman Two Door Hardtop is a good looking car. It was well preserved original that has been cosmetically restored and mechanically maintained. 

    Under the hood, "It's Got a Hemi."  The 291 cid engine starts and runs great, especially with its newer, problem-free, Edelbrock carburetor.  It sounds great through dual exhaust. The Powerflite automatic automatic transmission  shifts smoothly and quietly. For driving ease, it has aftermarket power brakes and power steering. 

    The paint is older, but still looks great. There are certainly some signs of wear, but it really shows well. The body is very solid. The car spent much of its time in  Florida and Alabama which probably helped to preserve its condition. The interior was redone and is nice and clean. It has a good, period 1950's look to it. The chrome, emblems, hubcaps and grill are all in nice condition. The factory tinted glass is good.

     The tires are newer, bias ply whitewalls that show very little wear. All gauges and lights work. The wipers and heater fan work. The horn blows and the doors lock via key. The radio does not play.

    The trunk floor is perfectly solid. It is covered by the original mat. There is a spare tire and bumper jack. Included with the car is a trunk full of spare parts including ignition, gauges, lights and the original oil bath air cleaner. 

     You don't see a lot of DeSoto Fireflites around which means this car will certainly stand out at the local cruise night or car show. Most importantly, you'll have lots of fun driving this car.  At 18,000.00 it is an affordable and unusual 1950s cruiser that will provide lots of fun at a reasonable price.
