Pre WW1 auto ID help needed

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to identify the small runabout automobile pictured on the RIGHT SIDE of this landscape photo.  Helpful clues include:

  • Photographed in Spirit Lake, Iowa (upper midwest)
  • LF Williamz, photographer, copyrighted the image in 1908 -- so it is likely from early '08 or '07
  • It is likely the photographer's car.  Mr. Williamz' obituary said he was noted for bring a wood-finished BRUSH automobile to the area just after the turn of the century.  However, a cursory web search doesn't show any vehicles like this

Possibilities to think about:

  • Two-seat runabout
  • Looks like tiller steering, but it may be a bad angle
  • Note that the "engine compartment" looks to be under the seat and behind

Beyond this, I'm lost -- who can help?
