wagonboss
On the vin tag and cowl tag, what is the model designation for Saratoga vs. Windsor? I'm looking at buying a 52 Saratoga and want to make sure it isn't a Windsor into which someone has installed a hemi. Thanks,Dan
George Miller
Dan,According to my copy of Catalog of American Car ID Numbers 1950-59, here are the 1952 Saratoga codes;Serial number starting with 76,512,101, the only series in the 76 million range.Body plate: body type C55. According to my book, the body number plate did not include body style, color codes or trim codes. The engine number is on the top of the block, just back of the water pump. 1952 V8 engines numbers start with C52-8-1001.I hope this helps.
