Guest
Hi, I just bought a 1952 DeSoto station wagon. The steering link is sloppy at the pivot point on the front cross member. I have not been able to find a source for the replacement parts, bearings, etc. Has anyone rebuilt this center link, and does anyone know of a source for parts? I believe that the 51-54 DeSotos and Chryslers are the same as regards this center link.
Bob Kinker
Try Andy Bernbaum, advertises in Hemmings. His parts catalog covers your car. <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
Guest
Bob, Andy has the parts listed in his catalog, just like he has the hubcaps for my P-15 listed. Does he have either in stock? NOT!I finally found the Intermediate Steering Arm Bearing Repair Kit at Mitchell Motor Parts for about half of Andy's catalog price.
Guest imported_BaronvonR
Another place I have found to be a VERY pleasant place to do business with is Roberts Motor Parts in Mass. They have all that they list in the catalog in stock, except the exhaust systems, and ship the next day UPS. I had them ship direct to the shop that was working on the car. They were great!
