  4. I had a similar problem and used a 30" long hacksaw blade from a reciprocating hacksaw (blade looks like a regular hacksaw blade except on steroids). Ground a long taper on the blade, but left a hook on one end (sort of like a giant saw blade tooth). I inserted the hook end into the dist. tube and caught on to one of the slots on the top and used a slide hammer hooked to the end of the blade. Eventually came out. I realize most won't have such a hacksaw blade so you can use a piece of 1" or wider metal banding. Very strong stuff. It helps if you have a good tube handy so you can judge where the slots in the tube are. Good luck. Don
  5. Okay, someone has to have an idea of the make and decade of this thing. Thanks, Don
  6. At least to me the radiator is a mystery. I have a couple of '47 Dodge pickup trucks and along with the trucks came some parts from unknown vehicles. I am trying to identify a radiator that I believe came from a 30's or early 40's car. Any help in identifying it would be greatly appreciated. The picture of the numbers on the tank is not the greatest, but here are the numbers stamped in the tank: A8 591259 E7 Thanks for your help, Don
  7. Hi, I'm new to this forum. I just acquired A D2 engine. Does anyone know the differences between the D2 and the later 218 engines? Except for the crank are the parts interchangeable? Head? Valves? Bearing caps? Manifolds? Connecting rods? Thanks for your help. Don
