  1. Thank you hwellens Is that for the chain. Or is there info on the sprockets also? Regards
  2. Hello I have recently begun to restore my desoto. Was wondering is anyone has a source for a new timing chain. The chain and sprokets are quite worn. I saw this as an example on ebay. If i drill the pcd tk 4 holes. Does anywone know if this will fit? Either that, is there another supplier? Or another make that is close? Regards
  3. Thank you for the pictures. Yes the mounts look the same, although the rubber on mine do not appear to be as perished Still looking at the best way to repair, probable will need to be welded, with the mount made a little larger, to support the weld Regards
  4. Hello. I brough my desoto home last week. Over 10 years since i purchased it. 2 kids later and another career etc. I started an earlier thread talking about serial numbers if people are interested. Anyway, having a good look at the car i found a crack in the main chassis rail. It is on the left hand side just in front of the engine mount. Am just having a good think about the eventual repair. I think i will be able to lift the body a few inchs and slide backwards 6 inches or so. To access the frame for welding. I would likely weld it and then bolt a section inside the frames. Looking tonight. It looks like the mounting plate for the engine might be able to be modified to include a brace/insert. My question. Does anyone have an image of the engine mounts out of the car? They look to have a space with rubber, rather than the bell housing being bolted straight to the frame. Am in Australia, so the crack is on the passenger side Regards Brad
  5. Hello Have you disaasembled the part? Mine was all gummed up and couldnt freely move. It can feel like one part this way. The forward motion of the gear on the spline occurs due to the rotation of the motor, these need to be able to move freely, Regards
  6. My maxwell has numbers also. Maybe they are the body number?
  7. I am putting together the rear brake (only brakes) of a 1924 maxwell. The parts were remover before by someone else. Would anyone have an image or the diagram on how they went back together. Im pritty sure i have the layout ok. Just want to make sure i have not mixed up left and right.
  8. Hello. I will look but i think imay have one. Regards
  9. I had the same issue on my 29 desoto as well. I think its an example of zinc pest.

  11. I have a 1924 maxwell. Melbourne Australia. It was i assume converted to a ute (pick up) the body i am slowly remaking. It would of been a tourer originally. Anyone have the dimensions of the top bows and sockets? I will need to make at some stage?
