Timing a 95 Chevy Pickup

on the emissions sticker it gives direcctions for timing my pickup. It tells you to disapble the distributor advance by unplugging it but doesn't tell where to unplug it. I have unplugged different wires from the distributor and it won't run at all with them unplugged. Any one have experience with this on a pickup or pre 1996 Roadmaster. Thanks

there is a single tan wire with a black stipe on it with a single connector - over on the passenger side of the cowl. you disconnect that and set the time, then reconnect.
