Guest De Soto Frank
Junkman,According to my '35- '42 edition of the MoToR's Shop Manual, the serial number for all 1935 to '40 Oldsmobiles is found "on frame left side rail under hood".The serial number series run in the following possible groups:CF-504001 to CF-5100598LF-545001 to LF-5511236F-600001 to F-662212Engine numbers run between: 828001 to 905000, and should be found stamped into a flat boss "on the upper left corner of the cylinder block". Raised numbers/letters are probably part numbers or casting numbers.Hope this is of some use to you...Good luck !
