millerleft
Okay everyone, during the "off-season" I would like to lower my Reatta. Anyone out there done it and is it as easy as a trip to my Buick dealer and going thru a performance catalog for Buick or what? Thanks for any info. Anyone out there auto-cross a Reatta? Steve.91-super-clean Reatta.
Guest MauiWowee
Please do a search here on the subject, Spyhunter has done extensive research and work on lowering, and it is still a work in progress.Welcome to the forum............how about a pic of your car? <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />
Guest spyhunter2k
I have the rear down, using a custom metal leaf spring from Birchmount Auto Spring in Canada. They acquired a used Reatta composite spring and made a metal one with 1.5" less arch to it. It worked great to lower the rear. The front, which I thought was going to be the simplest, has actually given me the most problems. Intrax makes a lowering spring kit for the 90s Cadillac Eldorado/Seville. The front springs in that kit fit the Reatta, but only lowered the front of my car by .5", even though the claimed drop for an Eldorado was 2", and the Eldorado only carries about 140lbs more (I think--can't remember the exact figure) over the front axle than a Reatta. As of right now, I'm still deciding what my next step is to get the front down.
