Jon Robinson
My 1936 Chrysler has a sealed-beam headlight conversation from the 1940s, which seems like a good idea, but I'm having a problem with current regulation, and I don't like how they look. I have a brand new set of original headlight lenses, but I need the original reflectors and sockets. The sockets might not matter as much as the reflectors because I'm thinking of installing six-volt halogen bulbs which, I believe, will take different sockets anyway. Thanks, JON
Guest De Soto Frank
Jon,Check with Tod Fitch ( Ply33) about the 1930's composite headlights... he did some upgrading to his '33 Plymouth's original headlights and seemed quite happy with the results...Will keep eyes open for some reflectors... <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

gunfixinsmith
Jon : Don Axlerod out in timson mass. used to carry all that stuff. After you find the reflectors have them coated at uvira laser optics , make sure you have a full 6 volts to the sockets and that the reflectors are grounded , and you will have headlights that are just as good as sealed beams. I did the headlights in my '30s cars this way and they are bright. Let me know if I can help further gunfixer2003@yahoo.com Evan Bennett
Jon Robinson
Thanks, Evan. I'm leaving with the Chrysler on a three-day trip around the San Joaquin Valley here in California, and I'll look into these sources when I get back. I really appreciate the help from everyone, and I'll let you know what happens. JON
