Guest F14CRAZY
Consider the following...In doing my brake upgrade, I went ahead and obtained used parts from Shroyer's locally. Rear caliper itself: $25. Bracket: $25. Now, I have to do the fronts. Let's assume that Shroyer's prices for the fronts will be the same. Front Wearever Gold pads from Advance are $32.96. So, $16.48 per caliper. That's $66.48 per wheel for the front. They may be OEM, but getting to be around at least 10 years old. There's a chance they may be locked up or something, and have a bit of wear. Also, consider the rust on them. I had to grind off the excess and treat with some POR15.And after all that, reman Cardone loaded front calipers (with bracket) are $59.99. I was about to call Shroyer and have them pull the parts until I checked I was okay with the rears, because the remans for the rears are much more expensive (as checking online at Advance). Nothing's wrong with the Cardone parts though, and hey, they're all ready to go (minus my red paint ). They have a lifetime limited warranty versus the 30 day. Also, I don't have to buy new bleeders and caliper grease. Though neglegible, it proves the point.Might want to keep stuff like this in mind when in need of parts.
