BigAl
I have a Wagner starter that I was told came from a mid teens Studebaker. It has a chain sprocket on the otput shaft and an 8/1 gear reduction. I was told the sprocket on the crankshaft had an over riding clutch to keep starter from turning when engine was running. Does anyone know if such cluth is available anywhere and if so where? I have attached photo of starter. ThanksAlemail almlshaw@cs.com
1927EW
Al:Have you found a starter clutch mechanism yet? Others on this forum may different information, but to the best of my knowledge there are no reproductions available. So the best I have been able to do is search for used assemblies. If you still need one, I MAY be able to come up with something. Alternatively, if there was enough interest, I might consider having some made. An expensive process as you might guess.
