Guest John1918
Now that I am ready to screw the exhaust nut onto the manifold (1920 Dodge) I am wondering what I should use to seal between the nut, exhaust pipe and manifold. Somneone suggested asbestous string but that is hard to find nowadays and I can find no record of any discussion about it so I must be missing something obvious. Guest DBtouring
Hi John 1918,I don't know what others would recommend, but I recently replaced the exhaust on my 21 DB touring and used Furnace Rope. Go to a hardware store than sells wood stoves and that type of stuff and ask for it. I've mostly seen it used as a gasket around a door on wood stove or oil fired furnace. It seems to be doing a good job so far. A little hard to keep it in place until you get the nut started, but I managed to do it.
