Don't reinvent the wheel. I have heavy duty Red Ryder by Gabriel on my 56 and they are great. Besides you have torsion level to compensate for increaded weight. There are enough things in life we have to deal with without adding more unessary projects.

Installing a Switch for manually controlling T-L is a much better project for adjusting ground clearance and has many other advantages.

I've found that I very seldom put my T-L in Automatic mode, I just adjust it where I want it and leave it there. A lot less wear and tear on system components that way, also.

I put Air lift shocks in the back on my 54 Patrician, i found a set from Monroe (MAX-739) fit as i also pull a 15 foot house trailer with the Patrician, and it really helps out.

Sorry Guys, I forget adjustable air shocks are for ride height. My T.L is working fine and I have'nt had any ground clearnce problems. My Patrician gets driven and not just on Sundays, but the rear shocks are worn out. What would you guys recomend. Sorry again for the confusion.

see the 55-56 X-ref thread in this forum for the rear shocks i am using on my 56 Exec. Not sure if 55 Pat would be different or not.

From my notes:

Maremont Classic part# 82066, top S1 Lower EB1(5/8 bolt dia. 1.44 total width).

Extended 22.55 inches, collapsed 13.35 inches. 9.2 stroke.

However i believe i am actualy using the Terrain Tamer G60107 or G60137.

Minor mods to lower mount was needed.

The monroe # 31125 fits the 51-56 standard supension only. It has a 3/8-16tpi stem both ends 12.250 compressed length 20.750 fully extended with 8.5" travel. Now if I knew the dimensions for the torson level system I may be able to cross over, the front shocks are the same 51-55 with the torsion system which is 5157 in monror sensatrac or LE10001 (pair) or 5751 single monro Matic plus.
