Overhaulin'

I enjoy watching how they do some of the custom work, that you can get ideas on doing some of your own work on the packard, one I seen was making some neet speaker boxes for the trunk, and though that may work for doing the door handles on the 54 Patrician, or how they make door panels using thin foam over the wood to give it the thin lines like the original. even some of the stuff you see on the other hot rod shows comes in handy. But I would love to see them try doing a 50's Packard in trying to find the parts in 7 days to complete the project...

Like the previous comments on Coddington's personnel, there are some things about Overhaulin' I don't like. I usually don't watch either program.

However, a similar program I do really like is "Rides". They cover a wide variety of subjects. So far the ones I've seen: the history and construction of the latest Lamboghini, a Ford show car (from inception to presentation) and hot rodding, race prep and mild customizing of a 1971 Barracuda (it turned out wild). In "Rides", there are no personnel conflicts, stupid jokes, etc; just a really professional presentation of highly professional and creative automotive work from big corporate to small shop. I'd love to see them do ANYTHING with a Packard (resto or custom).

Another new good show is 'Behind the Headlights' on Speed Channel, I think.

It's about One famous or historical car and the people involved with it.

The last show was about the Thomas Flyer, the car that won the Great-Race, around the world race, in 1908.

Very Interesting. <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I think they have it on twice a week, because I saw it last night (wednesday) about 11:00 PM, and I have also seen it on the weekend, maybe Friday evening, not sure. We should be able to find schedule info about it on the Internet.

On "Car Crazy" (Speed Channel) during the credits at the end is about a 3 second full view of a 1956 Packard Caribbean (white/red/black) convertible (top down, natch) slowing driving in some parade. <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

"Car Crazy" is oriented towards the people involved in the collector car hobby. They're always interviewing somebody interesting, but the background is always a meet, a show or a museum.
