I would like to calculate modern replacements based on known values. Over-carbing leads to miserable driveability, so I would like to stay in the approximate range. If i remeber right the Rochester flowed about 15 - 25 CFM more than the Carter. So u can figure on about 400 CFm for the Rochester. WCraigH Posted October 13, 2004 Share Posted October 13, 2004 See this chart on my website: V-8 Engine data I can't remember where I got this data, so I can't vouch for the absolute accuracy, but I believe that the CFM ratings are in exact ratio to the throttle bore area, so the relative CFM numbers should be pretty good.
