Performance tweaks for the straight 8???

Has anyone had experience with boring a 1954 359 block past .060? Any tips on porting & relieving? I have a book on supercharging the Ford flathead V8 with some good basic info on porting & such, but it is specific to Ford as to block casting thickness, etc.

Any info on super/turbocharging the straight 8? I know that the ?54 Panther Daytona show car featured a McCullough blower that boosted the HP from 212 to 275, but I?ve never seen anything on what other mods (if any) that engine used.

Any suggestions appreciated!
