Guest
Unfortunately I cannot help you directly, however I can try Gary Wallace, he sells early Chevy parts and he owns a 1928, like you and myself. His e-mail is chevy4cyl@swbell.net .Good luck !Julio <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
John McFarlane
Whatever you do, DO NOT torque to factory specs. You will crack the block under the bolt holes. Apply a thin spray coating of Hylomar to both sides of the head gasket and pull down to about 35-40 lbs. No more. The head is not the problem. A tired old cast block that has been full of water for who knows how many years is. And the rocker shaft clamps pull down to comfortably tight, about 20 lbs. Exactly what I did, and I drove on full registration 20 miles every working day for 2 years without a problem.
