I have my copy of that book in front of me. The 6-17 for 1927 has to be a typo.   It seems the engine numbers may all start with P. The same engine was used in certain GMC trucks but I don't know what prefix they used.   From a look at the 1926 numbers I have the cars were not 'matching numbers' - although I guess it is possible there had been an engine change at some time.    The first two pics are from a body-less parts chassis - engine P32667, US assembled chassi
