Guest
I have been slowing restoring a 1922 Davis four door touring car and find it difficult to find information. The motor is a Continental and the tranny is a Warner. Both were in lots of cars in their day. Looking for all sorts of tune-up parts, extra motors, the correct materials and source for body spacers (horsehair? felt?) Is there any sources for these type of things? Any help would be appreciated.
Guest
Should have bought a Model T. Just kidding! If you can, you shold identify the make and model number of all your electrical system components. There are several vendors of NOS electrical parts. The one I've used via mail order successfully is Special Interest Autos in Ardmore, OK. Also, there a several other good vendors every year at Hershey.
The Davis was clearly one of the many assembled car makers that purchased parts and assemblies from suppliers rather than manufacture them. You should get one of the interchange manuals listing all components for 1922. Literature dealers often have these.
