Guest Classic50s
Since Buick was importing Opels starting in 1958 I was wondering if the introduction of the Opel influenced any part of the Buick LeSabre compact car of the early 60s? I think it stopped using the full body in 62 or 63.
Guest my3buicks
I think you are thinking of the Buick Special & Skylark of 61-63 - and no, Opel had nothing to do with them. At that point the Opels were being imported and sold at Buick dealers although I don't believe it was until the mid 60's that Buick actually starting using the branding such as Opel by Buick, Buick Opel etc. I do not believe that early Buick even had any hand in the design of the early Opels. Guest springerhardtail
Have a 2012 Buick Regal and it definitely has the same feel as the Opel did back in the seventy's its fun and it handles like its on rails. When I heard it that it was inspired by Opel I was all on board to purchase it..love the car
