Guest stude8
The only source I know of at this date is Steve Munts Reproductions.See this past thread on AACA, "http://forums.aaca.org/f126/1929-studebaker-president-8-fhw-2-a-164761.html"If you click on the "Search" icon in AACA page tool bar above you can search previous threads by subject or words like "Spark lever" and it will pull up everything in the archives to look at. This subject comes up often enough that there were two pages of threads related to it. I attached a few photos of my 1928 Commander "Lever Job". Almost every late 20's early 30's Studebaker suffers from the aged Zinc diecast decomposition and breakage. The brass repros solve the age problems but must be plated and often the support plate inside the steering column that holds them in alignment needs to be replaced also. That requires removal from vehicle and some "Braze" work with an Acetylene Torch heat. If one lever is broken expect the others to fail with any use shortly. The concentric steel lever shafts need to be removed, disassembled, cleaned and relubricated to make motion smooth and stress free to the levers. Guest stude8
Two more photos of the steering column lever service. The "456007" shows the new brass repro next to the original Zinc piece which you can see has the center section crumbled and missing where it was "Swaged" onto the concentric tube outer sleeve. The new Brass levers are as received from Steve Munts, get your order in soon, they take a long time to produce if not on the shelf (Mine took 5 or 6 months). Then you have to get them chromed by your preferred plater. I use Courtesy Metal Polishing in Villa Park, IL 60181. Call Victor Durado at 630-832-1862.Stude8
Guest wilsonsk
Mine look a little different than those and I thought it was bakelite, I'll have to post a picture when I get home.
