Guest Jim Morningstar
The pinion bearing failed on my 23 Buick 6. I rmover the wheels, axles droped the rear axle housing and separated it from the universal. Removed the differential and the adjusting finger plate on the torque tube. Then I hit the splined end of the drive shaft with a brass hammer, tried steel one and it does not move. The retainer on the rear bearing fell apart. What is the proper way to remove this shaft. I have always done it the same way on Chevrolets. Is there something else I need to do?Thanks,Jim
