Guest Dodge Deluxe
I am wanting to test my generator and regulator. I have heard that if the generator is charging properly, that while the engine is running you should be able to disconnect the battery and the engine should stay running. Mine does not, if I disconnect the battery the engine quits. Does this mean I am not charging? I just had the generator rebuilt, so I am sure the generator is good, so possibly the voltage regulator, but even that is brand new. Possibly wiring? The gauge in the dash stays in the middle and never swings over to charging. Is there a way to put a multi tester on things? Also, a second question... I want to check my idle speed with a tech/dwell meter that I have, but do not know where to place the leads? The coil only has one post?Dan
