  1. If they're anything like the ones used for the wide side body trim on the 64 Wildcat, I know what your going thru, after a year of searching, I found some at the Carlisle show last fall. I bought all 11 of them. I'll take a pic tonight and post a reply. How many are you looking for? I don't have many left, but some is better than none.

    Thanks

  2. Hi All,

    I have a 64 Wildcat, 2dr HT Coupe, 401, AT, Bucket Seats...

    Question #1

The engine paint used, I'll call it a "sea foam" color. Where can I get this color, I'm finding a dark blue, but thats not what I want.

    Question #2

This is a lighting question. When I pull the light switch out 1 notch, the front bumper lights (signal lights) and the tail lights come on. When I pull the light switch out fully, the Head lights and tail lights are on.. BUT... the bumper lights (signal lights) go out. Is this functioning correctly.

    Thanks

  3. Thanks greenie for your PM, I'm waiting on some material samples AND Thanks GP for your response, I checked with 2 local shops, they looked at it, ask what it was from, then I got the delayed response of "yeah, we can do something"... that's not the response I wanted to hear.

    Thanks again

  4. Hi, it's time to repair the driver bucket seat of my 1964 Buick Wildcat, 2 door HT. I'm looking for some direction on who I can work with to repair the seat. I've reached out to this forum when I needed to re-do the sun visors and was steared in the right direction, they came out perfect. So I'm asking for some more help....

    Thanks

I just got her back from the body shop, had the bad rust cut out and fresh metal put back in, a few dings taken out, fresh paint.... took her for a 50 mile welcome home ride. I just need to finish the headliner in the next few days....

  7. Hi Pint4-

Not sure about your pick-up tube, but the VW did not have a screen on it, I was catching the dirt/flakes in a clear fuel filter just before the carb. So much stuff, enough to clog up one of filters. I was even lucky enough to catch some bigger flakes by disconnecting the gas line to the carb before the filter and just have the gas pump into a glass jar. And those flakes were actually the same color as the sealer that was used. I was told that they would lightly blast the tank again to get any loose stuff out of there and re-seal.

  8. I encountered the same problem with my tank when I restored a 1974 VW Super Beetle. Had the tank cleaned and coated by a professional shop. Had the same symptoms you are having, drive a little then clog, drive a little then clog.... What I was finding is that the coating was flaking in the tank and cloging. I had them re-do the tank again, still no luck, still clogged things up. They offered to do it a third time but I refused, and with a little persistance, I had them buy a replacement tank for me.... So I had a bad experience with that procedure. Personally, I would not do that again UNLESS it was my only option. But I'm sure it does work in most cases. Just my story and my thoughts.

  9. Hi All,

I have a 1964 Wildcat, 2dr Coupe, 401, Auto-trans (just like the one you see on the Muscle car club web site red body and white top). I'm trying to determine what is the original headliner. Currently, the headliner is all Light-Grey cloth material and the visors are a combination of the same material with matching vinyl. The headliner board consists of 5 pieces and 4 ribs and 2 side pieces. I have contacted SMS and they sent me 3 samples stating the samples are ORIGNAL, they are black vinyl with a pattern. So, can someone help me out and help me determine what is the original headliner color and material used for my 64 Wildcat 2 door coupe. Cloth or Vinyl???

    Thanks

    Steve
