What does "virtually no brakes" mean ? Does it reduce it to a simple old hydraulic (no vacuum assist or in this case hydraulic pump assist) type setting/feel ? I hope I'm not seeming paranoid (I'm not), I'm just curious as to how serious of a situation this really could be.

  2. Thank all of you for your input. From what little of read, so far, the Allante used the Bosch in the first year through 1992 and dropped it in the last year. I've read blogs/posts from people who have owned these and have had them all of sudden fail with no warning, if true very scary. I got to thinking about the Reatta's and wondered if needed the have concern about mine ? I've seen or heard any one talk about this happening and quite honestly maybe the Teves design will give some braking should the unit fail (minus any lines or hoses breaking of course).

  3. When I first got my white vert I went to a small local car show that typically has a little of everything. I didn't go with the intention of showing the car, but given what does get shown, it would have been very worthy of being there. So I've got the top down, it's nice Sunday morning and I get to the guy waving the stick directing cars and he looks at me and the car and says something like "Well I guess your not here to show" and I said "No......I guess not". I'm still sort of hurt over that.

  4. Windows are up all the way, car on level ground and no water other than near floor mat area. I was really hoping that since I had two of them doing it, that I would here it was common and "here's what the problem is". I'll have sit in it on rainy day or turn the splinker on. The problem is even if I see where it's leaking I'll probably still have take things apart to see where it's originating/starting /channelling from. Thanks for the thoughts/ideas !

  5. I haven't put any real effort into trying to figure out where its leaking. I did clean the seals up thinking that might be enough, but it doesn't seem to have corrected it. I'm assuming I'm not the only one that has experienced this and would really appriciate hearing what it takes to correct the problem. Thanks in advance!

  6. My 88 had one that would make noise (clicking/clunking)but wouldn't alwways unlock the lid. I had a spare and tryed it and that solved the problem. They evidently do get weak if that makes any sense. Maybe the windings for the solenoid were failing on mine?

  7. I got one a while back that you would have thought it was about to throw a rod. Turned out to be the harmonic balancer. Reach down and try to rotate it (engine off of course). You might just find your noise. I don't remember if it was quite on deceleration.

  8. Ok............ any one had luck rejuvenating leather???? It seems as if there is more than just a die applied to the surface and it isn't easily penetrated with the leather conditioners that you can purchase supposedly for this very problem. I'm sort of thinking about taking the hides off and putting something onto the backside. If I go to this trouble I'd like know would be the best product. Either way any advice will be appreciated.
