This photo came up in the Forgotten Chicago Discussion Facebook group and I thought it would be of interest to people here. While the REO and Pullman ghost signs are the most obvious you'll also see a smaller one for the Chadwick Six.
The photo was posted by someone who had discovered a large collection of slides showing Chicago architecture. This photo appears to be late 70's or early 80's.- 6

Thanks guys, if it helps the lens says "ALPHECO LENS."
They were in a box of parts a friend brought to Hershey to sell and he didn't know what they were for.
Any one interested they'll be in the RWK row...(can't remember the number).

Hi guys, trying to ID these headlights (only one pictured).
The ring and lense is roughly 11.25 inches in diameter and total is roughly 8 inches deep.

Bump to the top. I would really like to get an idea of what kind of car this cowl light goes to. No one knows?
Thanks

Bump to the top. Still trying to gather more info about this cowl light.

Hello,
Trying to get an ID on this cowl light and the arm.
After wandering the fields of Hershey for four days, I found many buckets that were very close but no perfect matches. Notice that this bucket has a notched sort of dimple on the inside and the outside for the conduit nuts. You can not see it in these pictures but the hole that the arm passes through on the bucket is a half-moon so as to prevent it from spinning. Many of the ones I saw on the fields had either a notch somewhere on the bucket or a little bump, this one does not.
Would be happy to hear from anyone who may be able to identify where it came from or better yet, where I could find more.
Thanks

I am also wanting to learn more about the James Cunningham & Son company.
I found these at the Hartung auction a few weeks back.
Sorry but I can not help you with your specific questions.

The blue K touring pictured above is the one owned by Mr. Kelly. He got it from an RM auction in 2010. He has graciously brought it out to events and I was fortunate enough to get a ride in it during the 2010 Hershey meet.
It is a great car and I'm glad it went to someone who not only lets others see it but also is so willing to drive it!

I'm 29 and was able to convince my 64 year old boss that he needed to change his turn signal fluid.
Ignorance about cars and mechanics isn't generational.

I originally posted this on Fordbarn but will repost here.
Wow.Wow.Wow.
I had set aside 2 hours to see the auction preview yesterday. 5.5 hours later I was walking out of the place and still didn't get to see everything I wanted to.
RM/Auctions America did a lot of work on the property to get it to the point where they are able to start auctioning stuff off. I spoke to one rep who has been on site for the past 8 weeks and another guy who has been there since June.
I took about 360 pictures and posted them to Photobucket. Hartung Auction pictures by ModelAYouth - Photobucket
The old museum has been emptied out and all of the stuff that at one point was buried and hidden and unknown, is out on tables, to touch and play with.
A lot of vehicles were outside.
20,XXX engine number with a winfield head.
Parts everywhere
Cars inside, about 40 of them.
Just all around interesting stuff.
1st issue.
I registered to bid at 6pm last night and was bidder number 238, so there will be a lot of people there. They have 1,700 lots that will be auctioned off. They were still auction people running around putting lot numbers on items all day. A lot list was available around noon and runs about 20 pages front and back.
Overall it was an impressive amount of stuff that will be hard pressed to find such a collection in the future. I'll be at the auction these next three days, more as an observer than a bidder, I'm sure things will go for crazy prices. Will be interesting to see how it all goes. The one item I had wanted and the main reason I've been so excited about this auction is not up for bid, it was kept by the heir as it had been a present she had bought for Mr. Hartung and she wanted to keep it. Can't fault her for that.
Oh, and I'm sure people were wondering but the one guy with the auction company we were talking to told us the auction company is estimating $8 million total sales. The property is for sale at $4 million. Not bad for a junk collector who lived in a trailer.

Debbie,
Can you give us a heads up of where you plan to post the pictures/videos?
Thanks

I posted this on Fordbarn but thought I'd add it here.
Everyday that I wake up there is more information coming to light.
Hemmings' Blog posted a short story which included the attached picture; a sign that stood at the entrance to the museum listing the cars on display.
So, whilst drinking my morning coffee, I went through and typed out all of the cars, 81 total including 39 Model A's. There are still a bunch of little things that I can't make out, those are mainly the motorcycles and bikes. Also; these are only the cars/trucks inside the building. He has a lot more scattered elsewhere.
? marks indicate I can't decipher the sign.

For anyone keeping track, today marks the anniversary of the full ratification of the 21st Amendment, repealing prohibition. Toast your favorite drink in celebration!

I thought I would revisit this thread as I still haven't identified a lot of the bodies and parts in this album. The original link will no longer work but you can view them by clicking here if you like.

Hi folks, I'm interested in purchasing a 1939 Illinois B.F. Goodrich Keychain License Plate.
Will look something like this.
I keep up on the ebay listings but figured someone here might know of one. If you do, please contact me! Here is a link to my DAV Keychains if anyone is interested.
Thanks

Looking to ID this car. It's sporting a 1928 Chicago Veh. Tax Tag, so it's pre-28.
-
I was in Northern Wisconsin visiting my girlfriend's family last month and her father took me on a walk through their back 40 where he showed me these cars in a ravine. Clearly they had been dumped there 40-60 years ago. The newest car I could Identify was a 1930-31 Model A Ford Tudor. Aside from that I was able to identify a '28 Ford Phaeton and a 1928-29 Model A Sport Coupe. Was wondering if anyone here could identify some of the others.
I'll link to the images as they are quite large.
Radio Boyce Moto-Meter Help Needed

Posting this for a fellow member who isn't online, he writes;
Trying to find some patent drawings related to the following information. I have spent some time trying to do so on the internet with no luck. Here is all the information that I know about the "Radio Boyce Moto-Meter":
"The Motometer Company Inc., Long Island City, NY, USA.....Patented Mar. 17-14, July 16-18, Aug. 13-18".
Have tried the patent search to no avail. There has to be some information on just how to restore this thing.
Anybody have any info on this?
