  1. Thanks for the replys so far. I have a 54 special and the radiator is smaller by 5". The 55 Century

is about 22 1/2" wide and my 54 special is about 17 1/2" wide. I sent progoofoff an e-mail about his and I can only hope it is good. otherwise I'm still looking for one.

    Thanks everyone!

  2. My 36 Buick coupe is over heating but it is very gradual. I drove it about 60 miles south of here

and it starts out at about 170 deg and very slowly creeps up. at about 25 miles it's up to about

190 then at about 50 or so miles it at about 205. If you get off the highway it will shoot way up to

220 or higher unless you keep the RPMs up to keep the fan going fast enough to keep it cooler. I have an after market gauge on it to keep track of the problem. Then she likes to boil over when you shut her down. On the other hand, I can run around town even jump on the highway for 10 miles and not have any problem even after I shut it down. Any one have any ideas. The radiator has been swapped out and put back because it didn't change things. The timing I think is good. What am I missing. There is a valve going to the heater but dosen't change things on or off. HELP!

  3. Hey Thanks Dave for the info on the Wheel Resto and Ron for the info on the tires. I'm going to Powdercoat and restripe my wheels so I think I will run the redials but I was thinking of using the Coker tire because they promise to look like the original tire. How does the B.F. Goodrich look?

Ron your car looks great thanks for the photo.

  4. As some of you know I have been looking for a 36 Buick Coupe for a very long time. At last I found one. I'm looking for a few things and need some help. First off, I have nice extra

banjo wheel that I'd like to have restored. The one on the car has 2 broken spokes. Who do I call

to restore my wheel? The car has a working radio but I'd like to have it serviced and I need the correct knobs for the radio.Any help would be much appreciated. I also would like to get the instrument cover and glove box tiger striped (Wood grained). Anyone still doing this? Last, the car has a almost new set of WWW bis-ply tires. Is it well worth putting on a set of radials?

    Thanks for the help!

  6. Well MrEarl,

I have a running 54 special parts car with 3 on the tree and I'm

sure you know what a pain the old Dynaflo can be. So I thought if I found a good

Special I could put that great 3 speed in it and have a fun driver. Do you know

if the 264 3 speed will work on the Centurys 322? A 54 Century would be ideal.

As far as the Super/Roadmaster I like them both but there's the trans problem

again. My first car was a 54 Super and the trans went out then I had a 54 Special I did a full resto on and had the Dynaflo done by a (pro) that lasted

750 miles and had it done by a diffrent guy and it lasted till I sold it 12 years later. I also had a 54 special with the 3 speed about 15 years ago and loved driving that car, but like we all do,I sold it and here I am trying to find another. I'd love to have Jay Lenos 55 Roadmaster. I saw it up close at the San Fransico Rod and Custom show last year. What a Great car!

  7. Just a friendly note MrEarl. You don't have to bid on a Item to tag it. You can

put it on your watch list or write down the E-Bay number and still pull it up a month after the auction it over.

P.S. Did you see the nice 54 Super on E-bay? White w/Red and black int.

  8. How is it that the 54 Roadmaster Conv. sat on E-bay for days with a Buy-it-Now

price of $29,500 and no one pick it up but now it's over $30,000 and people are bidding like it's the last one they will ever see. Last look it was at $38,000 almost $10,000 over asking and it's not over yet. What am I missing here?
