  1. Hello,

I'm going to Englishtown on Friday night to race my Cutlass before I put it away for the season. Let me know if anyone is interested in attending. I will definitely be the minority there, but it should still be fun. Take care.

    Sincerely,

  2. Hello everyone,

I'll be changing my oil on my 1970 Cutlass SX in a few days, and I wanted to know if anyone had their recommendation (with a part number) for their oil filter of choice. The motor is a 455 V8. Thanks and I look forward to your responses.

  4. Hello,

I have a rear sway bar that would fit any '73-'77 Cutlass. I'm offering to anyone who needs it for $50, and I'd like to sell it locally to someone in NJ or someone who's willing to come out to NJ to pick it up. Thanks and feel free to email me or PM me if you're interested. It's in good shape, and pics are available on request. Thanks!

    Sincerely,

  5. Hello,

I guess I thought my Cutlass Supreme SX was rare in that there were 19,330 442's made of which only 3100 were W-30's. The Cutlass SX production numbers were around 6400 for the 1970 SX hard tops. The reason I think the car is rare because I had never seen one at the Olds show I used to attend (or any classic car shows either), and I've never seen one before I traded my 'rare' 1997 30th Anniversary Z28 for it. I also know that many of them were junked, and only now do people realize that these cars are worth restoring. But, rare is in the eye of the beholder as said before, but I do feel quite blessed to have the nice olds that I have. Great topic!

  6. Hi,

I'm most likely going to be an observer tomorrow at Cops and Rodders, because my TH400 is shooting out fluid. I took the car to Varga Transmissions in North Brunswick, and they added too much fluild, and the car is leaking horribly. Any help in possibly gettting it fixed or taking to another shop that you trust would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and I look forward to your responses.

  7. Hello everyone,

I finally got my car back, and first gear works with the dual gate! I've been waiting over a year for this, so it's a big deal for me. Due to the excessive wind, I'm not going to Englishtown tonight, but I'm going next week on Friday night. Let me know if anyone else from the NJ area is planning on going, because it would be nice to meet up with another Olds owner. Don't forget that Cops and Rodders is on Sunday April 22nd too. Take care and I hope to meet some of you there!

    Sincerely,

  8. Hey,

I took the car to Mufflex in Trenton, and he heard the car. He immediately told me that it was an exhuast leak at the manifold on the driver's side which I had suspected. I'm really relieved to hear that, because I was afraid it would be something in the valvetrain. He's having the manifold machined flat, and reinstalling it on the car along with an H-pipe and bringing in the trumpet tips an inch or two because they were sticking out too far. Thanks so much for all your advice, and I'll let you know how it's going once I get the car back.

    Sincerely,

  9. Hello,

I have a tapping noise coming from the driver's side of the motor (1970 455 4-bbl), and it's coming from one of the rear cylinders. It's louder under load, and it's a consistent tapping noise. I wanted to know what could be the cause? Something in the valve train? An exhuast leak at the manifold? Thanks and I look forward to your responses.

    Dan
