  1. Hello guys was looking at the shelvs in the local book shop the other day and happened to pick up Classic and sports car (its an english high quality magizne). On the front cover there is a small picture with the line "Amazing V16 Marmon....Is it better than a Duesenberg? The car in the feature belonged to the F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone. I would think that this mag. is available in the U.S also here is the web add.

Thought this might be of interest to you guys. Take care.

  2. Hi guys, the battery in my 55 Patrician is worn and I need a replacement. The one old one was a champion (American) and written on top was the cranking amps. The motor factors here tend to use the ampere hour rateing on batterys but there is noting written on the old battery about this. Can any one here tell me what ampere hour battery would be o.k to use? Thanks Liam.

  3. Hi guys, underneath my 55 Patrician is in great condition with only some surface rust. I have some time off next week and I was thinking of cleaning and painting under the car with a wax type oil. What do you guys do to remove the old black underseal or should I leave it alone ? I have a hot air gun that is normally used to remove old paint or wallpaper. Thanks Liam

  4. Hi guys I need some help in selecting someting suitable, for a friend as a thank you present. He works on Packards for a living and I bought my Patrician from him. He was extremly helpful and I want to thank him properly. The problem is he allready has a lot of Packard books, pictures etc. Any and all segestions are welcome also dont worry about the price, thats my problem.

    Thanks Liam.

  5. Nice pair indeed, is it just me but the two Packards dont look out of place among the rods (no offence). I did the same as Twitch and saved the pics.

  6. Also if you dont have a good engine hoist hire one out there is going to be a lot of weightin the engine/trans !! and when takeing out the engine get some one to help there is allways some wire or pipe still connected or cought some where and your friend might see it (on there side ).It might be a good idea to remove the grill, is it wourth takeing a risk with this expensive and hard to find item good luck.

  7. Rick, not many Packards here I know of a 30 touring (PAC member) a 48 a 38 super eight and a 115c around 1937/38 I think. These cars were very expenscive. There would have been a lot more fords (ford had a factory here in co. Cork)Chevys and such. There is no Packard club here yet!! also I have a 51 200 that was converted into a hearse(U.S cars were often used because they were LARGE) my 200 was in a very poor state.

  8. Rick, cross plys/bias plys are the same thing. My car is fitted with Coker tyres. The car was shipped in from the U.S about a year ago.The tyres have been on the car for some time I would think in good condition but some ageing.
